Capacity: 37,792
Opened: 1897
Location: Beeston, Leeds
Elland Road, opened in 1897, has been the home of Leeds United since the club’s formation in 1919. With a capacity of 37,792, it stands as one of English football’s most historic and atmospheric venues. Generations of fans have packed its stands, creating an intimidating environment for visiting teams, particularly when “Marching On Together” reverberates around the ground.
The stadium has witnessed some of the greatest moments in English football, from Don Revie’s all-conquering side of the 1960s and 70s to the club’s return to the Premier League in 2020 after a 16-year absence. While modern upgrades have been made, Elland Road retains its old-school character and reputation as one of the most passionate football arenas in the country.
Leeds United, born after the disbandment of Leeds City, have built a legacy defined by resilience, flair, and fierce rivalries. The club’s all-white kit, introduced in 1961 and inspired by Real Madrid, became a symbol of their ambition. Legendary players like Billy Bremner, Norman Hunter, and Peter Lorimer embodied the club’s uncompromising style, while modern generations continue to carry the weight of expectation from one of the most loyal fanbases in England.
